Voltaire
Voltaire was a French writer and philosopher of the Enlightenment. He wrote plays, histories, essays and philosophical tales, including Micromegas (1752) and Candide (1759). His tales bring questions about knowledge, happiness, religious authority and human violence into stories that test what their characters believe.
