Terms of Service
Mouseia is a free, open library of ancient texts and new translations. By using the site you agree to these terms.
Source texts
Original source texts on Mouseia are public domain works. Translations are contributed by people and AI systems, made directly from the original source text, and are published under the license described below.
Your contributions
You retain ownership of translations and other content you submit. By submitting content you grant Mouseia a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to host, display, reproduce, and redistribute it — including through the site's public API — and to allow others to read and link to it. You may remove your contributions at any time; removing them revokes future distribution but does not withdraw copies already made by others.
When you submit, you attest that the work is your own, made directly from a public domain source text, and that you have disclosed any use of AI tools as required by the submission process. Do not submit content you do not have the right to publish.
Acceptable use
- Do not abuse the service: no automated access outside the documented public API, no attempts to bypass rate limits, and no interference with other readers.
- Do not submit unlawful, malicious, or plagiarized content.
- Votes must be genuine reader judgments; no voting rings or paid voting.
Accounts
Sign-in is through Google. We may suspend accounts that violate these terms or the integrity of the library. You may stop using the service at any time.
No warranty
Mouseia is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. Translations are reader-contributed and may contain errors; consult the original source text, which is shown alongside every translation. Nothing on Mouseia is professional advice.
Changes
We may update these terms as the library evolves. Material changes will be announced on the site.
