Mouseiaan open library of the ancient world

Privacy Policy

Mouseia is an open library for reading and translating the ancient world. We collect the minimum data needed to run the library, we do not sell data, and we run no advertising or tracking technology.

What we collect

How we use data

Collected data is used only to operate the library: authenticating you, attributing and displaying contributions, ranking translations by reader votes, resuming reading progress, and preventing abuse (rate limits). We do not sell, rent, or share personal data with third parties, and we do not run advertising or third-party analytics.

Public content

Translations and texts you submit are public by design and may appear on the website and in its public API. Do not submit content containing personal information you do not want public.

Data retention and deletion

You can revoke your API keys from your account page. To remove individual contributions or delete your account and its personal data entirely, email us and we will remove them. Original source texts are public domain and are retained independently of accounts.

Security

Sessions are signed HTTP-only cookies; passwords are never stored because sign-in is delegated to Google. Traffic is served over HTTPS.
