Letter 036 — XXXVI

36 of 172 parts in Letters to Josephine by Napoléon Bonaparte

Original French

Je me porte bien.

Louisbourg, October 4, 1805.

I am at Louisbourg. I leave tonight. There is nothing new yet. I have joined forces with the Bavarians. I am well. I hope in a few days to have something interesting to tell you. Keep well and believe in all my affection. There is a very fine court here, a very beautiful new bride, and altogether very amiable people; even our electress, who seems very good, although she is the daughter of the king of England.

Ludwigsburg, October 4, 1805.

Here I am in Louisbourg; I set out tonight. There is nothing new yet. I have joined up with the Bavarians. I am well, and hope to have something interesting to tell you in a few days. Keep well and be assured of all my affection. The court here is splendid, the new bride very beautiful, and the people generally most agreeable; even our electress seems very kind, though she is the daughter of the King of England.
