Musean translation

237 Now if the possibility of participation in the universal wealth exists for individuals and is secured by the public power, it nevertheless remains, quite apart from the fact that this securing must remain incomplete, still subject on the subjective side to contingencies, and the more so the more it presupposes conditions of skill, health, capital, and so on.

Plain English translation

Independent machine-assisted Plain English translation made directly from the German first-edition source, not from the Musean edition or an existing English translation. Complete preface, introduction and sections 1–360 with the author's remarks and notes.

237 Suppose the possibility of sharing in the general wealth exists for individuals and is secured by the public power. Then, apart from the fact that this securing must remain incomplete, the possibility is still, from the subjective side, subject to accidents. It is all the more so, the more it presupposes conditions such as skill, health, capital and so on.
