94 of 172 parts in Letters to Josephine by Napoléon Bonaparte

Original French

Adieu, mon amie. Tout à toi.

Finkestein, April 2, 1807.

My dear friend, I write you a word. I have just moved my headquarters to a very beautiful château, like Bessières's, where I have many fireplaces; this delights me, since I often rise at night; I love to watch the fire. My health is perfect. The weather is fine, but still cold. The thermometer is at four to five degrees. Farewell, my dear friend. Wholly yours.

Finkestein, April 2, 1807.

My dear, just a note. I have moved my headquarters to a very fine castle, rather like Bessières's, with plenty of fireplaces. That suits me well, as I often get up at night and like to see a fire. My health is perfect. The weather is fine, though still cold. The thermometer reads four to five degrees. Goodbye, my dear. Entirely yours.
