Letter 059 — LIX

59 of 172 parts in Letters to Josephine by Napoléon Bonaparte

Original French

Vittemberg, 23 octobre 1806.

J’ai reçu plusieurs lettres de toi. Je ne t’écris qu’un mot: mes affaires vont bien. Je serai demain à Postdam, et le 25 à Berlin. Je me porte à merveille; la fatigue me réussit. Je suis bien aise de te savoir avec Hortense et Stéphanie en grande compagnie. Le temps a été beau jusqu’à présent. Mille amitiés à Stéphanie et à tout le monde, sans oublier M. Napoléon. Adieu, mon amie. Tout à toi.

Vittemberg, October 23, 1806.

I have received several letters from you. I write you only a word: my affairs are going well. Tomorrow I shall be at Postdam, and on the 25th in Berlin. I am wonderfully well; fatigue agrees with me. I am glad to know you are with Hortense and Stéphanie in a large company. The weather has been beautiful so far. A thousand affectionate greetings to Stéphanie and everyone, not forgetting M. Napoléon. Goodbye, my friend. All yours.

I have had several letters from you. Just a line: things are going well for me. Tomorrow I shall be in Potsdam, and in Berlin on the 25th. My health is excellent; hard work suits me. I am very pleased to know that you are with Hortense and Stéphanie in a large gathering. The weather has been fine so far. Much love to Stéphanie and everyone else, not forgetting M. Napoléon. Goodbye, my friend. Yours entirely.
