Letter 116 — CXVI

116 of 172 parts in Letters to Josephine by Napoléon Bonaparte

Original French

Toutes mes affaires vont bien. Adieu, mon amie. Tout à toi.

Madrid, December 7, 1808.

I have received your letter of the 28th. I am glad to see that you are well. You have heard that young Tascher is conducting himself well; this pleased me. My health is good. The weather here is like the last two weeks of May in Paris. We are warm and have no fire, except at night, which is rather cool. Madrid is peaceful. All my affairs are going well. Farewell, my dear friend. Wholly yours.

Madrid, December 7, 1808.

Your letter of the 28th has arrived, and I am pleased to see that your health is good. You have learned that young Tascher is behaving well; I was pleased by that. I am well. Our weather here resembles that of the last fortnight of May in Paris. We are hot and have no fire except at night, which is quite cool. Madrid is calm. All my affairs are going well. Farewell, my friend. All yours.
