Letter 106 — CVI

106 of 172 parts in Letters to Josephine by Napoléon Bonaparte

Original French

Adieu, mon amie; j’aurai grand plaisir à te voir. Tout à toi.

Dresden, July 18, 1807.

My dear friend, I arrived yesterday at five in the evening in Dresden, in very good health, although I had spent a hundred hours in the carriage without getting out. I am here with the King of Saxony, with whom I am very pleased. I am thus more than halfway nearer to you. It may be that one of these fine nights I shall drop in at Saint-Cloud like a jealous husband; I warn you. Farewell, my dear friend; I shall take great pleasure in seeing you. Wholly yours.
