Letter 104 — CIV
Original French
Tilsitt, 6 juillet 1807.

Tilsit, July 6, 1807.
I have received your letter of June 25. I was pained to see that you were selfish, and that the successes of my arms would have no charm for you. The beautiful Queen of Prussia is to dine with me today. I am well, and long to see you again, when destiny has appointed it. Yet it is possible that this will not be long.

Tilsit, July 6, 1807.
I have received your June 25 letter. I was sorry to see how selfish you are, and that victories won by my forces would hold no attraction for you. Today the beautiful Prussian queen is coming to dine with me. I am well and long to see you again, when fate decides the time has come. That may not be far off, though.
