Musean translation
Mouseia’s complete machine-assisted Musean translation, made directly from the Sanskrit of F. Max Müller’s 1881 Anecdota Oxoniensia edition, all 32 sections, with the printed section numbers kept.
"What do you think, Subhūti? Did the Tathāgata attain unsurpassed perfect awakening through the perfection of marks? One should not see it so, Subhūti. Why? The Tathāgata could not have attained unsurpassed perfect awakening through the perfection of marks. Nor should anyone say that bodhisattvas who have set out on the bodhisattva vehicle have declared the destruction or annihilation of any dharma. One should not see it so. Why? Among the bodhisattvas who have set out, no dharma is declared to be destroyed or annihilated." [27]
Plain English translation
Mouseia’s complete Plain English edition, made independently and directly from the same Sanskrit, covering all 32 sections with the printed section numbers.
"Subhūti, what do you think? Did the Tathāgata reach the highest and complete awakening because of his marks? You should not see it that way, Subhūti. Why? It would not be by his marks that the Tathāgata reached the highest and complete awakening. And no one should say that those who have set out on the bodhisattva path have declared the destruction or ending of any teaching. You should not see it that way. Why? Among those who have set out, no teaching has been declared destroyed or annihilated." [27]
