1 Someone called to one of them while I stood nearby. I heard his voice
2 as he spoke, though I was some distance away. My heart reeled;

286 I was taken to a royal son's house. Splendors filled it: a bathing room,

291 I was dressed, my hair was washed. What belonged to the past was given back
292 to the desert; the desert clothes to those who tread the sands. I was clothed
293 in fine linen, anointed with the finest oil, and slept
294 on a bed. I gave the sand to those who cross it,
295 and the tree oil to those who rub themselves with it. I was given the house
296 of an estate owner, with all that belongs to a courtier. Many craftsmen
